Certified Dynamic Movement Therapy
For children who have delayed gross motor skills and impairments, Dynamic Movement Intervention is a specialized technique used to treat these delays or impairments. At RISE Pediatric Therapies (RPT), we offer in-home and community early intervention services for children and families, as well as therapy clinics for developmental disabilities (TDD). We serve Mesa, Surprise, Tucson, and their surrounding areas in Arizona. Contact us at (480) 295-4925 for more information or get started now.
For your convenience, we are in-network with several insurance providers, and we also accept private pay.
How Does Dynamic Movement Intervention Work
RISE Pediatric Therapies seeks to improve a child’s mobility by taking advantage of the brain’s neuroplasticity. A certified DMI therapist, often either a physical or occupational therapist trained in DMI, helps a child perform guided movement patterns that train the child’s brain and help improve mobility. The therapist assists the child in performing many of these dynamic movements against gravity. The goal is to provoke an active motor response from the child to complete the movement. Over time, the child’s response becomes more automatic and efficient (Lammers, 2024).

Cutting Edge Research
DMI intervention was first introduced in 2021 by Jake Kreindler and Jo-Ann Weltman and is helping children meet age-appropriate developmental milestones. “This comprehensive intervention incorporates current research on neurorehabilitation, technologies, and methodologies. DMI stimulates neuroplasticity to facilitate new neuronal connections and development of motor milestones.” (What Is DMI?, 2025)

- Down’s Syndrome
